Valentine's Day

This year was Levi's 1st Valentine's Day, so Jason and I took him with us on our Valentine's Day date. We originally were going to the Olive Garden, but when we got there they were hanging out outside, and there were a lot of them. We actually decided to go on Friday instead of Saturday, but it didn't matter the wait was still the same.

We thought I-85 was going to back up so we got off on exit 54 but noticed that the cars were just slowing down not actually stopping, so we got back on the interstate from exit 54. When we were getting on the interstate I saw a tractor trailer that looked like my daddy's but I told Jason that it couldn't be him , but Jason said yes it is , and he sped up to get beside of him and I rolled down the window and waved and it really made my heart happy to be able to see him, because some weekends I don;t get to visit with him.

okay, so back to the story. We ended up at Texas steakhouse and had the best prime rib and cheese fries, ever! Levi actually ate some prime rib and cheese fries of course. Then we decided to go to Starbucks and have some coffee, I really prefer cold coffee which suits Levi just fine. So Jason and I got coffee and Levi got a double chocolate cupcake, that he really enjoyed. It was a nice Valentine's Day dinner and By the way Amelia Grace did have a better time at her Nanny and Papaw's house than she would have with us!

Birthday Party

Saturday we went to our niece's 3rd birthday party. It was a cowgirl/cowboy theme, and my brother had one of his horses there. We didn't let Amelia Grace ride on it or even sit on it for that matter, but Levi couldn't seem to leave the horse alone, he absolutely loved it. My Daddy took Levi up to pet him and he thought that was just the best thing when he got close to the horse, whose name is Flash. Amelia Grace didn't really pay much attention to Flash, unlike most little girls she doesn't want a pony, she wants a baby goat. She had a great time playing with her cousin and her new toys.

It has been 8 years??????

On Friday, January 30th, Jason and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary.  Jason took the day off of work and we loaded the children up and headed to the mountains.  They were calling for 2-3 inches of snow so we thought it would be  a great opportunity for Amelia Grace & Levi to get to see some snow.
It was not our plan to spend the night, but we decided to at the last minute.  We had a very good time, and would do it all over again.  We went to Valle Crucius to the original Mast General Store, then we went to Pizza Hut to eat dinner(Amelia Grace's Idea).  In the morni ng we got up took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway and then headed to our favorite store in Blowing Rock, Cabin Fever...there we bought Levi a Second Nature Simply Irrestible Teddy Bear by the name of, "Toffee".  When Amelia Grace was a little over a year old we bought her the same kind of bear there that she sleeps with every night but his name is, "Truffle"
We left the mountains, reluctantly and went to visit with my mama &  daddy.  They ended up taking Amelia Grace to the circus later that night.
We had a great anniversary and can't wait to celebrate #9.

My Newest Undertaking..

Since May of this year I have been wanting a bracelet with the names of my children on it, I have one of those charm bracelets with the boy and girl heads on it with the names of my children and their birth dates on the back.
I just bought the stuff I needed to make them and made them myself.  Jason said that I should try to sell them, and i  am amazed that I have had a few orders already.  I made Amelia Grace one with tiny pearls on it and she absolutely loves wearing it.  I made my sister Melani one for her birthday, but used amethyst stone bead and orchid pearls and she loved hers.  I also made a black and white one with just charms , no name on it.  It turned out nice, I forgot to take a picture of it before I sent it to the person who ordered it.  I am happy I have found something I enjoy and am able to turn it into a business.

Just an update.......

Just wanted to publish a little update from the Barbee family.  Amelia Grace is doing well now just at her 3 year old checkup she weighed and measured perfectly....for a 4 year old.  Her doctor said, " now we don't want her to grow much more in the next year, she really doesn't need to get any taller, (like i can control that) and we want to keep her weight at the same place.  Started to tell her okay, I want to see you go through a whole entire year and gain no weight.....but anyway.  She is writing some of her letters and we are working on the others, she can trace all of them but writing freehand we are still working on some of the hard ones like: R, K, & B.    She just got over bronchitits, sinus and upper respiratory infection.  I wish when people were sick or their children were sick they would all just STAY AT HOME.!!! Other than that she is blossoming like a perfect little flower.
Levi just had his nine month visit he is doing well, despite the ear infections that he has battled since 12-26-08.  Finally this last trip they gave him Rocephin shots and it has seemed to clear them up.  Again, if a person or their child is sick KEEP THEM AND HOME!!!!  He weighted in at 17lbs. 2 ozs. and 28 1/2 inches long.  He was also doing what 12 month old are doing and some of 18 month old behaviors.  He is now standing on his own, most of the time and pulling up like a champ.  He has 4 teeth, but I think that 2 on the bottom are fixing to sneak their way through at the same time.  He loves to play with his sister and I think I am going to be in trouble when they get older and can team up on me.
Jason and I will celebrate our 8 year anniversary on Friday 1-30-09.  It seems like we have been together forever, but I know 8 years isn't that long.  We are doing well, and look forward to another wonderfully blessed year for our family.

Rah Rah Ree Costume

Amelia Grace loves to play dress-up, she has princess dresses and butterfly costumes, even a pink poodle and Tinkerbell, (complete with wings).  A few months ago I asked my Mama if she would look up in the attic and bring one of my many cheer leading costumes for Amelia Grace to use playing dress up.  So she found a 2 sets of pompoms and one cheer leading outfit.  This outfit has become Amelia Grace's lovey, snugly, or whatever parents call those things that their children simply cannot under any circumstances live without.
I am not kidding, she puts the outfit on 1st thing  in the morning and it is the last thing she takes off at night before bed.  I have to fold it up and put it on her pillow at night, until I sneak in and put in the washing machine after she has gone to sleep.  I find this cute, but somewhat odd since she has never been the type of child that has had to have one particular item to comfort her.  I will leave you with this,  it is a cheer that she made up herself:

Rah Rah Ree, kick them in the knee-
Rah Rah Rass, push them in the grass-
Kick them in the leg-
Shove them in the ground-
And SHAKE MY TAIL!!

Happy New Year 2009!

Well......we did not make it to see the "ball drop" this New Year's Eve, but of couse we haven't since New Year's of 2006, yes the year Amelia Grace was born.  I have always been awake after the fact, but not at the actual moment of 12:00am.
This year Jason and I spent a very quite night at home, with Amelia Grace and Levi just hanging ot with each other after the children went to sleep.  We sat in front of the fire and ate cream cheese, salsa, and tortilla chips, peanut butter balls, fudge, lemon snow drops, brownies.....lots of yummy goodies.
Jason actually had to work until 1:00pm and when he got home he did a few things around the house and then we went to the mall to exchange a Christmas gift and went to eat at Sonny's BBQ. Everything was great except the BBQ but that is a different story.
We want to wish all of our friends a very Happy New Year!
