Happy 4th Birthday Amelia Grace!

On Saturday the 24th we celebrated Amelia Grace's 4th birthday. It was of course a princess, reniassance themed party, we had it at the Oasis Prayer Pavilion at our church, WCC. The weather kind of kept us on edge as they were calling for rain in the morning but clearing up in the afternoon. When we got to the pavilion we were greeted with puddles of water and leaves under the cover, so as soon as we found the key to open the closets, Jason and his dad promptly got to sweeping the floors while me and his mom moved tables and began setting up the decorations. All is well that ends well, everyone had a blast, we had a fire going and Jason was the King of the Smores and we had lots of snacks and a craft table for making crowns with jewels and glittery stickers. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to the princess and then we began cutting the cake and eveyone had a great time.

Welborn Reunion 09

The red barn is just a cool old barn we pass every year, the same with the weathered barn in the right hand corner. The autumn colored tree is right outside of the church fellowship hall where the reunion is held. The white house is the old farm house of Jason's dear sweet Uncle Junior, who passed away a few years ago. It is now owned by Jason's cousin, Jimmy who is restoring it and doing a beautiful job of it. The other two are of course, Amelia Grace and Levi in the fellowship hall of the church. We had a great time and look forward to next year.

Family Reunion

Jason has family that live in the High Point, Winston Salem, Kernersville area of NC. Every year in October we go to Hillcrest Baptist Church for the annual family reunion. It is the one chance we get to see all of these dear sweet family members. Amelia Grace and Levi are just starting to understand the meaning of family and I am so thankful that we have the opportunity to get together with extended family. I have a few pictures, but we were so busy talking we didnt really get any but of Amelia Grace and Levi.

Momisms

Jason gave me a book for our anniversary one year titled "Momisms". Here are a few of my favorites.

"What did I just say?" Your child usually interprets this as a challenge over whether or not they are paying attention. But in my case, I have actually forgotten what I just said and am hoping they can tell me.

"This place is a pigsty" The pathetic attempt at motivating children to improve their housekeeping skills usually falls on deaf ears.

"I'm going to give you until the count of three" When mom resorts to the dreaded three-count, chances are that she is at the end of her rope and you'd be well advised to do what she says immediately.

"No means no!" The purpose of this momism is to distinguish between the words no and maybe. Most kids know that when Mom says "maybe" then the answer is probably yes. But when Mom says "no" nine times out of ten, she, in fact, means "no".... unless of course, she changes her mind later to "maybe"
